The Number 23 Opening Sequence

0-4 seconds - Black screen

4 seconds - Fades from black into the openeing

6 Seconds - Black writing comes up in bottom right corner, "New Line Cinema presents"

6-9 seconds - Writing stays on screen in corner

11 seconds - Contrafilms/Firm Films production

16 seconds - directors name comes up in bottom right corner, black font. "Joel Schumacher"

19 seconds - Actors names start coming onto screen, in bottom corner again "Jim Carrey"

20 seconds - "Jim Carry" name moves up the screen and turns into numbers - this shows that numbers are going to be important in the film

23-26 seconds - number 23 appears all over the screen. This shows that this number is going to be important,specific in the film.

26 seconds - the title turns into a dark red font, then slowely turns into blood

26 - 29 seconds - the title turns into a dark red font, then slowely turns into blood then the blood covers up the title.

29 seconds - The screen fills with the number 23 and equations that add up to 23

34 seconds - more actors names come onto the screen, appear in the centre of the screen

50 seconds - More writing appears about the number 23"the witches sabbath is June 23rd" This emphasis the importance of the number 23 in the film. All facts that have the number 23 in them are important.

65 seconds - more blood appears all over the screen and starts to fill up the screen.

69 seconds blood starts to dissapear from the screen
70 seconds - more numbers appear on screen along with blood
77 seconds - Another name appears on the screen in the centre "Mark Pellegrino"
90 seconds - more facts about the number 23 appear
100 seconds - Blood starts to fill up the screen then starts to dissapear, Associate producer "Linda Fields Hill"
110 seconds - "Daniel Orlandi" costume designer comes up with blood around it
128 seconds - Director of photography Matthew Libatique in centre of screen in black font
Finishes with the whole screen covered in blood with the number 23 in darker blood so the audience can read it.
